Questions people ask
How does plus-minus work in hockey?
A skater gets +1 for being on the ice when their team scores at even strength or short-handed, and −1 when the other team does. Power-play goals don't count toward plus-minus.
How do you calculate a goalie's save percentage?
Saves ÷ shots against. 27 saves on 30 shots is .900 — written as a decimal, so .900 means 90%.
What counts as a shot on goal?
A shot that would have gone in if the goalie hadn't stopped it, or that went in. Shots that hit the post, miss the net or are blocked by a skater aren't shots on goal.
